Marriage Monday – Diligent

Merriam Webster defines “diligent” as “characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort.” Steady effort. Earnest effort. Energetic effort. Three things I am not! I am more of a “spits and spurts” kind of person. I do really good for a little while, then not so good (or pretty bad sometimes) for a little while.. it’s a cycle. But diligent? Notsomuch. However, I really want to be. The bible has some pretty positive things to say about diligence, too: A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. ~ Proverbs 10:4 Whoever is slothful will not roast

You Don’t Have to Teach Every Subject Every Day. Really.

Welcome back as we continue our 10 Days of Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Homeschooling! I am so pleased today to introduce you to Marlene! Today Marlene shares one of the best decisions she has made, which is one of the best *I* ever made in our homeschool as well… Marlene is not a blogger (YET, she’s thinking about it scratch that! She just started one!) -she’s one of my loyal Facebook fans! When she asked if she could help out with this project I was thrilled! Be good to her and leave her a comment? Y’all enjoy… ~~

I feel like I need to pause Today. Can we PAUSE Today? For like, maybe 48 hours? That would be awesome. Why have I been feeling this way? What’s changed? NORMAL changed. Normal flew out the window. There’s a new Normal in town. It’s a GOOD Normal, but it’s a NEW one and new Normal messed with old Routine. Old Routine just isn’t cutting it anymore. SIONARA

Finding Rhythm

A song well played has a steady rhythm, consistent, well timed. The tempo changes, it brings interest, but there is continuity. Routines don’t just build walls, they bring rhythm to an otherwise off-beat, listless day. Wandering through the day no longer works for me. I crave rhythm, tempo, beat. I am writing a smooth, steady, Well-Functioning rhythm for our household. The composition is incomplete, rough, but the melody already sings sweet above the tympany and the snare. I feel it. Beat, beat, beat. Symphonies aren’t written overnight. It takes time. Thought. Intention. Creativity. Determination. Endurance. Follow Through. Inspiration. A song
