Advent begins today!

Ring the bells, light the candles, and cue the music – Advent begins today. =)

I’m sure you can tell I’m a wee bit excited. I love this time of year. Tonight we’ll do our first Advent candle wreath lighting and scripture reading. The next 25 days will be a time of intentional focus on Jesus, family, friends, love, service, prayer, and scripture.

It’s not too late to jump in and get started. It’s easy to pull things together in a snap – and the most important thing you need, the only thing you really need, is a heart that seeks Jesus.

Advent Resources

Advent can be as simple or in depth as you want. Do you want to do a traditional Advent candle wreath? Do you want to do daily readings or just weekly readings and candle lightings on Sundays? It’s up to you.

Here’s a few different things to help you get started.

Advent Scripture Readings

Somewhere, some how, to some extent you will incorporate scripture into your Advent celebration. This is key for focusing our heart and mind on Jesus.

Celebrate Jesus

Regardless of what you choose and how you do it, remember why we are celebrating and what we are remembering. How wonderful our God is to have made a way for us to know him and be intimately known by him. To God be the glory. <3

Amber

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m getting close to graduating my third child and now we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
