Truth in the Tinsel eBook Giveaway

Mommy Time Party, “Christ-Centered Holidays”

Celebrating Advent is quickly becoming a popular way of keeping the holiday season Christ-Centered. Advent (which means ‘coming’) celebrates both Christ’s coming as a child, and alsoHise return at the end of the age. Many people feel overwhelmed at the thought of trying to learn how to ‘”do” Advent, but it doesn’t have to be all that complicated.

Door Prize #2 – The Truth in the Tinsel

The Truth in the Tinsel is an “Advent experience” ebook written by Amanda White, author of the blog “Oh Amanda.” With 24 days of scripture reading and ornament crafts, Amanda walks you through the Advent season step by step as you walk your children through the biblical text of the Nativity Story.

Amanda has a website dedicated to “The Truth in the Tinsel” where you can find some additional printable ornaments, technical FAQ’s, a sample page and the Facebook challenge. You can also find this Question and Answer Post that shares even more information about what you’ll find inside the ebook, including this youtube video:

We have Advent calendars. Last year we listened to The Cinnamon Bear and counted down to it that way.

I’ve been REALLY wanting to get this! It looks so amazing and we’ve never really had a “formal” Advent activity/study to do with the kids. This would be amazing to have!

My kids are almost 3 and 6 months, and we used to always celebrate Christmas at my mom’s house, so we are really just starting to look for our own traditions and ways to count down… we have an advent wreath and are doing little crafts and singing Christmas songs.. We’ve wrapped Christmas books and are unwrapping and reading a new one each day, which the kids love.
