Ten Helpful Bible Verses For Homeschooling Moms

God’s Word, the Holy Spirit, and Prayer are what carry me through this homeschooling journey. Good curriculum, supplies and coffee play a role as well.. but what keeps me going, helps me find direction, strengthens me.. it’s all God.

Now, I’m not saying these bible verses have anything to do with homeschool specifically, nor are they only beneficial for homeschoolers, but these are some of my favorite, most encouraging, hope-filled, “purpose giving,” bible verses. If you’re going to be journeying down the homeschool path for the first time this fall, it wouldn’t hurt to gather your “supplies” (an arsenal of scriptures) before school begins. =)

Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. ~ Proverbs 16: 3

 

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. ~ Matthew 7:7-8

 

…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Phil 4:6-7

 

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. ~ Colossians 3:23

 

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.   You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  ~ Deuteronomy 6: 5-7

 

Psalm 46

46 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present[b] help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family[c] in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding. ~ Proverbs 3:5

 

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:11-13

 

Psalm 127

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early

eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.
