Like any school break — it didn’t seem to last long enough! It’s hard to believe that it’s over and tomorrow we’re back to school!

I really needed to take the break, though, and I’m glad I decided to move it up earlier in the month. By Thursday I was really feeling awful so I finally gave in and called the doctor. A doctor appointment on Friday morning gave the verdict: BRONCHITIS. I had already suspected that, given the hacking & coughing & difficulty breathing. 48 hours, one inhaler, an antibiotic and steroid pack later — I’m feeling so much better.

Significantly. Better.

Yay for modern medicine!!

While I was sick and while we took a break, the kids did get to relax and read and watch tv quite a bit but they also pitched in to help me quite a bit, too, and I’m so grateful for that! Princess cooked several times, Drama Queen took over the laundry and the Little Prince was quick enough to bring me a drink or rub on my neck. He’s such a little sweetie, isn’t he?

I really have to say that I quite enjoyed having them pitch in more and I’m looking forward to hanging on to that and not letting that go. (Cue the mean mom, she’s back!) ;0) I also think that having to help out more might have been a little bit of an eye opener about how much work it takes to keep things going around here. Well, maybe. I can hope. =)

My kids may not have been doing much book learning this week, but they sure did learn a lot about homemaking! I was also pleasantly surprised with the amount of reading they chose to do. Drama Queen even pulled out the laptop to practice typing and a few other things.

Now that I’m feeling better we really need to get back into our groove this week. So bring on Week 10! Let’s do this!

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m getting close to graduating my third child and now we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
