Friday Fun: Tell a Story

Oh it’s been YEARS since I’ve done something like this (high school in fact.) I always had fun with these.. yeah, I was a bit of a nerd, what can I say?

Inspired by Currclick’s giveaway and blog hop (check out the Currclick blog to see how you can enter to win a $20 GC to their site – ends at 10pm EST tonight, Friday the 29th!!) I’ve decided to start my OWN story and join up. Why not?

So I’ll start a story, and you’ll add to it in a comment, and the next person will add, and so on, until someone ends it or people stop adding and I add an ending. We’ll see which happens first. =)

Just please, please, join in and help me out, won’t you?? You don’t want a sad little story starter sitting here on my blog, do you? DO YOU?? Make it fun!! (Just keep it family friendly, please!!)

Ready? Here goes:

Our story takes place a long time ago, or maybe yesterday, in a far away place (that’s really not so hard to get to.) Most people never go there because they’ve never heard of it. Few people have heard of it but never gone. Most who go, never return (or so they say.) Our story takes place when our hero, Jo, leaves the country called Un, in search of the long lost…

Your turn! If you’re reading this on Facebook, make sure that you leave your comments in the actual post. Don’t forget to pop over to Currclick to add to THEIR story and enter the giveaway. Happy late, “Tell a Story Day!”

**UPDATED – I won the gift certificate – Yay!

Treasure of the Bombardier’s Son. Ever since Jo was a little girl, she had heard whispers and rumors…things too fantastic and bizarre to be believed. No one seemed to know who the Bombardier was, or who his son was, or where this treasure had gone. For treasure it was – if rumors were to be believed: a box containing six vials of potions, each one with a unique and irreversible power.

The powers these potions held were far too incredible to be credible, too surreal to be real, too out of this world, to possibly be anywhere in this world. And yet, Jo had always known, ever since she was small, that the rumors had to be true. Somewhere deep inside her, Jo just had this feeling…no, it was stronger than that, she just KNEW not only that these potions truly existed, but that she would one day find them, because they were meant to be hers.

So on the day that Jo traveled from Un, she set out to the North, for she had heard tell that the Bombadier’s Son once sought refuge in the country of Nod while on the run from the nefarious Pirate named Stag (presumably after having acquired the 6 vials and before having safely buried his treasure in a secure place.) But Jo was not to reach the land of Nod,… for before she arrived she met an old man with one eye whom all called The Seer, though his name was really Weslawn. It seemed that Weslawn had the knack… Read more »
