You’ll never guess what I did yesterday. (Oh, I guess I kind of gave it away with my title, huh?) At any rate… yesterday…
I. Cleaned. My. Oven.
For the first time. EVER.
I don’t know why, but I’ve never cleaned an oven before. Last December when my friends came over and helped me clean my house, one of them cleaned my oven. So it got cleaned at that point. But I didn’t do it.
Now, I don’t really know how often one is supposed to clean one’s oven. Is it a bad thing that it hasn’t been cleaned since then? It was dirty, yeah, but not THAT dirty. Nonetheless, I bought some oven cleaner and tackled it anyway. I figured it was about time. 😉
Now I can’t say I’ve never cleaned an oven before.
Cuz’ now I have. 🙂

Well, I always use foil and put it under the bottom burner in my oven to make it easier to clean up anything that could spill out. Then you can just change out the foil instead of the extra elbow grease. And ideally I would wipe off any other major splatters when they happened (after the oven had cooled of course) but that rarely happens. I give my entire oven a good cleaning about twice a year, though… 😀
Great tackle! I HATE cleaning ovens! I rarely do clean the oven. I am in a new home (new to us) so I probably can go a good year before cleaning the oven:) I did buy oven cleaner recently tho just in case!

I clean mine like once a month it’s not self cleaning hahahaha!
I’ve only cleaned mine using the self-cleaning setting. Does that count for cleaning?
Oooh I hate cleaning ovens. I have a self-cleaning one now (thank you dear Lord) but I still don’t know exactly how to get all the gunk out of the bottom… any ideas?
Aw, man! You just reminded me how desperately our oven needs to be cleaned. Hopefully I’ll get myself in gear in the next week or so. Thanks for the great reminder and great job on accomplishing such a dirty task.
