So, I don’t mean this to sound as bad as it sounds, but it is true. Today was the best birthday I have had in years. And I’m so glad. 🙂

It started last night, though it was technically today since it was after midnight, when my hubby gave me my gift and told me “Happy Birthday,” and Mama Nut wrote me a Happy Birthday post. It continued this morning when I got a text message from a good friend around 8, the girls sang me Happy Birthday around nine, and then later Big Daddy and the girls sang me Happy Birthday again around 10:30. Throughout the day I received two e-cards, a myspace message, an online instant message, and at least four phone calls. My mom and my brother came up and we ate dinner with my Uncle, my brother-in-law and his wife, and my in-laws and their house – where we went swimming, grilled hamburgers, and ate so much food and cake I probably won’t be hungry till lunch tomorrow. 🙂

So, as you can see, I spent the day with people who love me. 🙂 And that’s just the bestest.

Not to mention that my oh-so-forgetful and gift-giving-challenged hubby got me a very thoughtful gift and gave it to me in the sweetest way. He acted as if he was working on a computer for a client all evening, but what he was really doing was putting together a pc for me, to replace the one I had been using – which had become SO slow that it literally took the start menu at least five seconds to pop up after you clicked on the start button. He came in and out several times through the evening, appearing to look for software for the “customer’s pc,” and he dug around on my computer to see if there was something on there (gathering intel, you see) and then shortly after midnight he brought it in and said he was going to hook it up to my monitor and work on it, and that I’d have to plug mine back in later. I didn’t pay much attention to what he was doing but a few minutes later he made a noise to get me to look over there and this is what I saw:

“Is that for me?”

“Yes, it is.”

REALLY?”

The sweet little stinker had snuck around and put all my programs on it and transferred over all my documents and pictures and everything. He definitely did a job well done with this particular gift. And by the way, did you notice my flat monitor? He picked that up at a going out of business sale a few weeks ago. How cool is that?

And here’s a few swimming pictures. I do so hate to black out their cute little faces, but trust me, they’re CUTE little faces. 😛

Yes, I am loved. And so very blessed.

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m getting close to graduating my third child and now we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
