- I’m an Organizing Junkie!’s Challenge has ended. Check out her site to see all the entries and final results. I’ve created a new page to contain all of my pictures and results, I thought that was easiest since it does have a LOT of pictures. Congratulations to everybody who completed the challenge. I can’t wait to start digging through all the stories. God Bless!!
(P.S. I am still working on going through and correcting all the typos!)

I’ve never been so excited about cleaning! I’m absolutely giddy. I can hardly wait until it’s all finished.
First off, let me just say that the kid’s bedroom is STILL clean, they LIKE having it that way (remember that comment about “liking it dirty” – which was really just an attempt at getting out of cleaning?), and they haven’t minded when I have asked them to pick up the few things they’ve pulled out to keep it from getting dirty. THAT. THAT RIGHT THERE is a huge blessing.
Now, for more pictures. (more…)
It’s like day and night.
My sister-in-law (technically she’s not my sister-in-law, she’s my “brother-in-law’s wife”, but we bend the rules!) came over yesterday to help me clean the girls’ bedroom and move the crib in there to help me get a jump start on my project. Now that room is officially, “the KIDS room.” I’ll have to get used to saying that instead of the “girls’ room.” Temporarily, I have three toyboxes and two desks in my living room – but only temporarily! I have to have them out of there before Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Today my plan is to get into the playroom and do as much as I can before having to move those things in there.
So without further ado, here are pictures from Step 1:

I have a problem. Just a little one. Ok, no, a BIG one. … I’m a recovering Messy. But don’t worry, it’s okay, I’m in rehab and I’m quitting.
As many of you know, that’s a long and hard road and once you quit you’ve got to steer clear of clutter and mess completely. Just one little pile, and you’ll fall off the bandwagon and straight back into Messy-ism.
The bad news is that I have three kids who are constantly bringing mess into my house. They leave it here, there… it’s right out in the open! They aren’t even ashamed of it. Everwhere I go I have to see mess and clean it up quick so that I’m not tempted to leave it there. Sometimes it hard, real hard. But I’m giving it up and that’s that.
The good news is there’s hope! I have a plan. I have a goal. And now I have support.

Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie is hosting a challenge. A 30-day Organizational Challenge. I’m a little late signing up, but I’ve been working on this particular project for the last couple weeks (years) anyway and so I think it would be good to have a deadline. Besides, there’s prizes. But regardless, I will be so glad to get this finished. I can’t even tell you how much.
So, sit back, grab a snack, and read along as you discover what lies behind “the door”…
