I’ve never been very good at keeping tidy. (Everyone who knows me in real life is now rolling on the floor hysterically.) Growing up my room was a mess. Getting married, my house was a mess. Having children.. “mess” would be a refreshing break from “disaster.”

Over the past few years God has been changing my heart and I’ve been working on my habits. But my biggest downfall is still a lack of discipline. I think someone more disciplined might have a better handle on things by now. But me, I just keep chipping away one little piece at a time. I WILL get the hang of this. In time.

One issue I’m up against is a lack of organization. One room, one box, one area at a time, I’ve been organizing and reorgazing over the last two and a half years. That sounds like a long time, I know, but I’m up against 30 years of bad habits and some of the stuff I was going through originally had been floating around for ten years or more!

On the other hand, organizing can be addictive!! I can get caught up in labeling and sorting into pretty containers and that sort of thing and completely skip other important things like… sweeping and mopping and laundry. Ick.

And so goes my ongoing quest for organization… seeking order where I can, but trying to remember to not neglect the dirt and grime while I’m at it!
