31 Day Fitness Challenge, Day 21

31DFC21 31 Day Fitness Challenge, Day 21

You can believe I was not about to repeat Day 20! Even though yesterday was a really hard day – hard for motivation, hard for parenting, hard for just about every reason.. and even though it got really late before I got the kids in bed and I was exhausted.. I was NOT going to miss another day of working out!

As I said, I was just spent and really tired, and it was very late so I of course, did my mini strength training workout. I like doing those. Not just because they are brief but because I feel like that workout spends more time on building muscle strength than the workout video does. And the workout video spends more TIME and works on endurance and burning calories. I think switching between the two is good for my body.

So here’s the rundown for Day 21:

Activity: Strength training
Activity Length: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Harder than previous. I switched to 2lb weights with the workout video several days prior but this was the first time I was doing my mini strength training with them. I life more repetitions in a row than I do during the workout video because she has you switch back and forth between different moves. So I may overall do the same number of squat and presses.. but not all in one stint like when I do this. That’s why it pushes my muscles harder, and I like that. I know it doesn’t burn tons of calories, but man I like feeling like I’m growing stronger! (I played around with a 5lb weight at walmart today. Just lifted it up and down a few times. Yeah – not ready for that yet. But I’ll get there soon!)
Tomorrow: Should do the 30 Day Shred again.
