31DFC1 31 Day Fitness Challenge: Day 1

Well, I did it! I survived!

Here’s the run down on yesterday’s workout.

Starting weight: 190
Activity: Yoga
Activity Length: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Initially, “meh”.. by the time I was done my legs were jello. ; )
How I feel: Good! My spine feels great, my lower back muscles feel a little sore already and my legs are still jelloey. It was a good choice with my sinus headache and sore Achilles tendon.
Tomorrow: Tomorrow I plan on starting The Thirty Day Shred. Yikes! I’ve started this one before. I know what I’m in for. It’s a doozy!

Oh and one more thing! I promised some of you on Twitter some pictures post-hair-color last night at midnight. Here you go:

I want to do this, really I do! I have tried to do videos before but I always feel stupid and if my husband or kids are around I am terribly self-conscious! Do I just need to get over it??
.-= Dawn´s last blog ..Term 2, Ancient Greece here we come! =-.

LOL! Me too!! Your kids are older and they’re boys so I don’t know if they’d go for exercising together or not… We have a family yoga DVD (I believe I linked to it in the main 30DFC post) that the kids like to do and most often they’re too busy paying attention to what they are doing to pay attention to me. I’m hoping to do that a couple of times a week with them, because then it involves them and gives them some exercise, too. Having said that – I’m right there with you! I don’t like people watching me if I’m the only one exercising. I do in my room after the kids go to bed and before my husband goes to bed. It’s a good fit for me because James has his outside office and he’s out there in the evenings. If that doesn’t work for you, perhaps you can find some time during the day to slip away to your room, give your boys a 30 minute project and lock your bedroom door. =P

Wow! No offense, but you wear your weight well. I wish I could look that good when I was at your current weight.

Thanks, Colleen. The last time you saw me I probably weighed abt 12 pounds less – I put that extra 12 on when I broke my toe this summer. But still, I don’t think most people realize how much I weigh, which is why most people tell me “Oh, you don’t need to lose weight” and also why I can get away with ignoring it. But now I look at the scale and think, I’m only ten pounds away from 200. I CANNOT HIT 200. I have to do something or that’s what will eventually happen.
Most of it’s around my middle though – and I admit/confess… if you look around on Facebook and my blog, all my pictures are from elbow up. There’s a reason for that! Unless someone tags me in a full pic of course.. and I think I’ve untagged a couple of those. =P

I love your comments! They're like the cream in my coffee.
