It’s time for another Works For Me Wednesday BACKWARDS edition – a time for, instead of giving y’all a tip, asking for one of yours. And what do I need help with?

Decorating.

I have an idea in my head and it just needs some tweaking. Every Christmas, we hang stockings on this wall over the piano.

So every Christmas I hang them up, every Christmas I take them down. And it occurred to me a month or so ago (when I noticed that I still had the thumbtacks on the wall from the stockings – ahem) that I could make some kind of decorative piece to hang there permanently, with permanent hooks, and then just switch out the five stockings at Christmas time -wouldn’t that be brilliant?

What I’m imagining is five small, black, square picture frames hung on satin ribbon. But I can’t decide what to put inside.

  • Should I put a decorative painted/stamped letter for each of our first initials?
  • Should I spell out some 5 letter word such as FAMILY or PEACE or FAITH? (Strike that, FAMILY has 6 letters! Thanks, Tina) icon wink WFMW Backwards Edition, Wall Decor
  • Should I hang black and white baby photos of each family member?

What do you think (or do you have any other ideas?) Feel free to make any suggestion, I’m open for ideas! I want something, inexpensive, easy and not too time consuming. That’s not too much to ask, is it? =)

Speak up, bloggies! And thanks in advance!
